My waste intolerance

I have barely any. My mind is programmed to not tolerate any kind of waste if it can be avoided. Money doesn’t come easy and because of that, food is a biggie, I have respect for it. Trust me, I can make a second meal out of whatever leftovers I have. And it will still be a yummy tasty meal. Ok, it may not always be a meal for more than one or two people, but it can feed someone! It works well, and more often than not, a reheated meal actually tastes better than the first time. It has gained more flavour.
What I normally do is I have it the following day, at lunchtime, when I'm normally on my own or freeze it for a lazy day. I just need to make sure the ingredients will not cause a negative impact on my health and weight. Here’s my quick list of successful recurring leftovers.

Stock - Soup
Meat/Fish - Omelette (love a good toast or a pitta pizza)
Sides (Rice, pasta, potatoes) - Add tuna, ham & cheese, chorizo and a fried egg on top)
Add your favourite spices and… LUSH! Who said cooking was hard if you don't like it? For me, till I had my own family, cooking was a bare necessity. I cooked only for myself, I ate to live. More and more people nowadays live to eat. It's a shame, really, because I learned that eating can be a pleasure. Eating HEALTHY can also be a pleasure. It is possible.
I do more research as I understand better about mixing flavours - more importantly about mixing the flavours, I like - and about combining healthy ingredients, prepping easily and time, still ensuring it’s a tasty meal. Obviously because of all that research I am frequently confronted with weight-loss apps and recipe finders on my feeds. As you know Alexa is always listening.
And I do go through the odd one. But because I have more of a practical mind when it comes to manual tasks, I am not looking for recipes that have a long introduction on why the ingredient is the ingredient it is and all the sponsoring bits. I just want the recipe itself. And I absolutely hate chain pop-ups pressuring me to subscribe! Why would I subscribe before I know if your recipes are any good, or match my style? Let me try the recipe first. And then, if I or someone in my family likes it, then maybe I'll subscribe. The details I’m really looking to find when I’m looking for a recipe are the Ingredients, how it’s done; how long it takes; how many calories (for a friend) and where can I find the best deals for the ingredients.
Nothing else. This is where the old school hard copy books become handy. I never throw those away, and the collection is still growing, as I print them out. Like a diary, a recipe book is a very personal collection.
