I'm happy to share that I am now part of The Urban Writers' non-fiction writers' pool. I believe this will change over time. I intend to progress :) They have very good reviews, their freelancers look genuinely happy and they have managed to engineer a fair system that offers good value for both customers and freelancers alike. Hopefully, the upcoming AI doesn’t change this.

It was somewhat exciting to receive their email and I confess, I saved it so I can bash on it whenever I’m feeling uninspired or lacking motivation. I am truly excited about my current stage of personal development. It’s reassuring to find that I don’t have to quit my full-time job to make a start. We still need to eat, children’s needs don’t stop growing, and bills still need paying so it would be unrealistic to even ponder about a leap of faith like that. There’s too much at stake.

For this to work I need to start small, with only manageable pieces that I can manage around my daily routine, also considering possible time zone differences to account for the delivery. This will also allow me to catch up on style formatting and other bits. It will take practice. It is good that I am being pushed to make time for reading and writing because it will help me not only to improve my writing but also to build up the volume. This will make it all worth it.

As a prepping exercise (and good practice), apart from how it could affect my writer's image, I will be going over the grammar of all the blog posts I posted right from the first one, on my personal blog. It is important that any errors that Grammarly may have not picked up then (but might do now), as well as how the writing style, are reviewed. I’m pretty sure upon re-reading them out loud, I will find different ways to express my views. I need to make use of my new-found writing maturity.
