"Just not hungry".
"I will eat on the way to work".
"I'll just grab something later".
People underestimate the boosting power of breakfast. It really does kick me off to a better start to my day. It helps me take control of my daily cravings.
Like everybody else, I've got cravings. I also have colleagues that bring tempting goodies into the office. And like any other human being, I sometimes succumb to them. As Belinda Benn says, if we're being good 80% of the time, it's ok to be naughty the other 20. It doesn't really throw me off the health waggon. On the contrary, it shows me that the choices I'm making 80% of the time are the right ones.
Let's talk about breakfast. It doesn't matter where you look, the concept of a healthy breakfast is very coherent across multiple platforms. It's all about retaining our sugar levels up, to help prevent those cheeky cravings. This has a massive impact on our weight. No appetite, no pounds, right?
Not only does having it prevent me from thoughtless snacking throughout the day but I make sure I'm providing my body with the right nutrients so that my mood is up all day. It's way less unlikely to feel cranky. And if I'm in a good mood, I will be more inclined to make more sensible choices.

Breakfast is still the number one meal of the day to me. Give me oats and berries, cottage cheese, or egg and smoked salmon with a slice of wholemeal bread, or peanut butter and sliced banana on it and a cuppa coffee and I'm pretty much sorted for the morning.
However, I am always prepared for the worse. Nuts are a good easy option, I love my almonds. I also make these freezable batches of delicious banana muffins that are weight saviours! When I come across those crankier days, halfway through the morning, I reach out for one of those little power kicks and all is again good with the world until my lunch break.
