Birds are looking for twiggles, trees are starting to sprout, we’re starting to have the odd day where temperature feels milder, to the point where we can actually feel the typical scent of Spring. A sign of that is when my garden string lights come on at night for over two nights. It’s like a nature sensor for the seasons. It reminds me that the warm seasons are coming and I can only look forward to the being outside, to commune with nature. And obviously looking forward to barbecue season. ALSO: what better time of the year to move?

You know when the universe tells you’re heading the right way? When things happen well aligned with your plans. When doors open as you pass, traffic lights go green when you hit them, you wake up before the alarm clock goes off, you find that one parking spot when you thought it was full. When people smile at you and give you way. The universe knows you’re happy with it and smiles back at you.

On Saturday I was preparing dinner and, when ever I cook chips on the side, I use the air fryer. Because it’s a small one, we have been using it often as a microwave sub, to re-heat food or quickly cook something, oven-like. Last Saturday, it stopped. It just refused to work. It didn’t matter how much Gary tried to dismantle and retro-engineer it back to life, it decided it was its time to retire. So it did. We had a good four years use out of it.

That prompted me to start going over all kitchen stuff and filtering anything I didn’t want to take with us and just chucking it in the bin. Any chipped mugs or bowls, any glasses or jars I collected over the years that I find are now a little out of date and started chucking some of them away, thinking ahead of the move.

Then I found out the toaster was burning the bread on one of the sides. I hate when that happens (my waste intolerance kicks in). At first I thought the last user had put the settings a little bit higher than my usual one. I quickly realised that wasn’t the case.

It is impressive how wildlife can be more organised (even compliant) than humans...

It’s true, at the moment nature seems confused. And the fact that there isn’t as much traffic on the roads as a result of the growing remote working policies seems to have brought more wildlife out into the open. I don’t think I have seen so many birds of prey out hunting in previous years! It’s like they’re no longer afraid of human beings.

Half way through the Winter and the weather doesn't seem to want to settle. I’d like to think the seasons are just changing around following its normal course.

I don't know about you but I'm way ready for Spring!
